About Emily Bradford

Lifelong Resident. Local Government Leader. Community Advocate.

Vandalia has been my home for over 30 years. I grew up here, graduated from Vandalia-Butler schools, and chose to stay and raise my family in the same close-knit community that shaped me. My two children have also gone through/are currently attending Vandalia schools. My oldest, Tyler, is now pursuing his MD/PhD at the University of Cincinnati. My daughter attends Morton Middle School. Like many families in our city, mine is rooted in hard work, community spirit, and a belief in giving back.

A Career Dedicated to Public Service

For nearly 20 years, I’ve served in county government, working directly with the Montgomery County Board of Commissioners and the County Administrator to ensure our local government runs smoothly, transparently, and effectively.

As the Clerk of Commission and Director of Operations, I manage the day-to-day workings of county leadership—from budgeting and policy implementation to compliance and strategic planning. I’ve overseen everything from annexations and public hearings to digital service innovations and cross-department collaboration. I know how government works—and more importantly, how to make it work better for the people it serves.

I’ve also had the honor of serving as President of the Ohio Clerks’ Association, and I continue to lead and contribute to internal committees that improve operations and strengthen public trust across our region.

Why I'm Running

I’m running for City Council because Vandalia deserves experienced, community-focused leadership. I want to ensure that our city continues to be a place we’re proud to call home—today and for future generations.

As a council member, I will:

  • Support fiscal responsibility while investing in smart, community-centered projects

  • Champion transparent, accountable governance

  • Work to make city services more efficient and accessible

  • Strengthen the relationship between residents and their local government

I’ve built my career on improving local government from the inside out. Now, I’m ready to put that experience to work for my hometown.

Let’s Build Vandalia’s Future—Together

This city raised me. Now I’m ready to give back in a meaningful way. I’m not a career politician—I’m a public servant, a parent, a neighbor, and someone who genuinely believes in the future of Vandalia.

I hope to earn your vote on November 4th.

Let’s move Vandalia forward—together.
